We are what we eat, but we eat what is available to us in our community.
To understand the complexities of how diet effects health, we must also consider the societal health in which we live.
How ingredients interact in the body to produce healthy or harmful outcomes, how we can craft a healthier lifestyle through diet, how food insecurity affects those locally and globally – these are all questions of health and food interacting within society.
Our goal is to build a world in which no one goes hungry. And yet, 815 million people around the world went hungry in 2016.
It’s time to see an end to food insecurity both worldwide and in our communities.
